Safety First: Preparing Responsible Drivers

Safety is our top priority at DPS Mobile Driving School. We teach students the rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to handle emergency situations. Our goal is to instill a sense of responsibility and awareness in our students, ensuring they can navigate the roads safely and confidently.

Practice Makes Perfect: Simulated Driving Tests

In addition to our comprehensive training program, we offer practice driving tests to help students prepare for the real thing. Our instructors simulate the driving test experience, allowing students to practice their skills and build confidence before taking the actual test. This hands-on experience is invaluable in helping students feel comfortable and prepared on test day.

Eligibility for the Road Test

You qualify to take a road test with DPS Mobile Driving School if you:

• Are between the ages of 16 and 17.
• Have a valid Texas Learner’s Driving Permit (with photo) and have held the permit for at least 6 months.
• Have completed an approved Teen Driver Education Program (32 classroom hours and 14 in-car hours of instruction).
• Possess a DE-964 (Commercial Driving School) or PT-964 (Parent Taught) completion certificate.
• Have watched the two-hour Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) video and hold a valid completion certificate (expires 90 days after issue date). You will need to download, print, and bring all documents.

A parent must accompany the applicant to sign the required documents for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Road Test Details

• You can use your own car for the test, or optionally rent a school car for $35.
• Test criteria are provided to the applicant prior to the test administration.
• Upon completion of the driving test, the examiner will review any errors made during the test and provide advice on how to correct them.
